Multi-Level Hydration That Mimics Skin’s Natural Moisture Matrix

Aloe vera and raw honey act as humectants, drawing moisture into the deeper dermis. Yogurt and raw milk contribute natural lipids and lactic acid, which help retain this moisture within skin layers while mildly exfoliating to improve absorption. The result is skin that feels plush, elastic, and dewy -not just momentarily moist, but consistently hydrated at the cellular level.

icon

Rapid Cooling Through Vasodilation and Fluid Exchange

Cucumber and aloe vera trigger dermal vasodilation, enhancing heat dispersion and fluid exchange. This not only cools down overheated or sun-exposed skin but also accelerates the delivery of oxygen and nutrients, soothing stress-induced inflammation. Patchouli and cedarwood bring skin back to balance while preserving its moisture gradient.

icon

Microbiome Support for Improved Moisture Retention

A resilient skin microbiome helps regulate transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Yogurt delivers live probiotic metabolites and bioavailable zinc, which encourage a healthier skin barrier and suppress inflammatory microbes that disrupt hydration. Lemon helps balance the skin’s pH and reinforces microbiome diversity. This ensures that hydration is not just applied - but held within.

icon

Barrier Replenishment and Lipid Recovery for Lasting Softness

Pure oils rich in linoleic acid, supports ceramide production in the stratum corneum—the outermost skin layer. When combined with milk fats and honey’s enzymes, it helps rebuild barrier lipids that seal in hydration. This lipid restoration also prevents micro-tears and dryness-triggered inflammation, leaving skin soft, smooth, and shielded against future moisture loss.

icon

Mineral-Rich Detoxification Without Dehydration

Bentonite clay helps detoxify skin without stripping it, thanks to its high magnesium and calcium content. Unlike drying clays, it absorbs only excess oil and leaves behind replenishing minerals. These minerals not only help tighten pores but also support aquaporin channels—tiny water pathways that transport moisture between skin cells—enhancing internal hydration flow and structural firmness.

icon

Skin pH and Enzymatic Balance for Optimal Hydration Efficiency

Hydrated skin relies on a slightly acidic pH for enzyme activation and lipid synthesis. The naturally acidic components of yogurt buffered by honey and milk proteins, help re-establish the ideal pH for enzyme function and barrier repair. This pH precision ensures that moisture-binding processes work optimally and that the skin can hydrate itself effectively—day after day.

Creates a Micro-Climate for Skin Recovery

As the lepa sets on skin, it forms a soft occlusive barrier that traps natural heat and moisture. This mild thermal effect gently dilates superficial blood vessels, enhancing microcirculation and initiating a cascade of dermal activity. The micro-climate beneath the pack mimics the skin’s ideal healing environment - warm, moist, and oxygen-rich - allowing metabolic processes to speed up. This not only supports detoxification through increased lymphatic flow but also primes the skin to better receive and absorb topical nutrients.

icon

Barrier Lipid Softening and Follicular Access

Under occlusion, the skin’s intercellular lipids soften slightly, loosening the tightly packed stratum corneum without disrupting its integrity. This temporary softening enhances permeability. Nutrients that are normally blocked by the skin’s natural barrier now find deeper access pathways, allowing for more effective delivery of actives into the viable epidermis. This phase is critical for delivering bioavailable phytonutrients, lacto-compounds, and fatty acids to the cells that need them most.

icon

Capillary Wake-Up: Enhanced Nutrient Exchange

As circulation improves under the warmth of the lepa, the capillaries become more active, boosting oxygenation and waste removal at a cellular level. This enhances the skin’s metabolic exchange, ensuring a two-way flow—nutrients are pulled in, toxins are flushed out. The dermal vasculature essentially "wakes up," fueling cell turnover and encouraging fibroblast activity, which supports collagen synthesis and overall dermal renewal. The result is skin that is not just nourished, but functionally revitalised.

icon

Dermal Feeding: Absorption of Bioactive Molecules

With the skin barrier relaxed and microcirculation heightened, nutrient absorption peaks. This is when skin drinks in vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, and prebiotic actives from the face pack. These molecules interact with skin cells in real time—lactic acid encourages cell renewal, natural fats reinforce lipid layers, and herbal bioactives modulate inflammation and pigmentation. Each compound finds its target pathway, working either on the surface, within cells, or at the skin’s microbiome level to support radiance and resilience

icon

pH Reset and Microbiome Rebalance

As the pack begins to dry, it gradually re-establishes the skin’s acidic mantle. The slight tightening helps seal in nutrients while reducing puffiness and superficial redness. Simultaneously, yogurt and enzymatic compounds present in the lepa help regulate skin’s microbial diversity - supporting beneficial strains while inhibiting dysbiosis. This rebalancing of the skin ecosystem enhances immune defense and reduces chronic low-grade inflammation, a hidden enemy of glow.

icon

Post-Pack Rebound: The Glow Window

Once the lepa is removed, the skin enters a post-treatment rebound phase - its texture is visibly smoother, circulation remains elevated, and the skin's receptivity to hydration and emollients is heightened. Barrier function is reset, cell signaling is active, and the skin exhibits improved reflectivity due to enhanced surface uniformity.

Hydration vs. Moisture: What's the Difference?

Hydration is the water content within the skin cells, primarily in the outermost layer, which helps maintain suppleness and elasticity. Moisture, on the other hand, are the oils (lipids) that form a protective barrier on the skin’s surface to prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL). In essence, hydration fills the skin from within, while moisture locks it in from the outside.

icon

How Water Reaches the Skin: The Journey Within

Via the dermal blood supply! From there, it diffuses upward through the epidermal layers. This process is governed by osmotic gradients, and hydration is maintained by substances called Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMFs) which draw and bind water within cells.

icon

The Skin Barrier's Role in Moisture Retention

The outermost layer of the skin, composed of dead skin cells embedded in a matrix of intercellular lipids, forms the skin barrier. This barrier acts like "mortar between bricks," preventing water from evaporating too quickly and blocking external irritants. Damage to this lipid layer—through harsh cleansers, over-exfoliation, or environmental stress—results in dehydration and sensitivity.

icon

Aquaporins: The Skin’s Natural Water Channels

Aquaporins are membrane-bound water channels present in skin cells. They facilitate the movement of water and glycerol across cells, playing a key role in maintaining hydration. Impaired aquaporin function leads to rough, dull, and tight skin, even if external moisturizers are used.

icon

The Role of Humectants, Emollients, and Occlusives

Effective skin hydration involves a three-pronged moisturizing strategy. Humectants draw water into the skin. Emollients soften skin by filling in cracks between cells. Occlusives form a protective film to prevent water loss. A balance of all three is essential for long-term skin plumpness and resilience.
