Multi-Level Hydration That Mimics Skin’s Natural Moisture Matrix
Aloe vera and raw honey draw moisture into the deeper dermis. Yoghurt and raw milk contribute natural lipids and lactic acid, which help retain this moisture within skin layers while mildly exfoliating to improve absorption. The result is skin that feels plush, elastic, and dewy -not just momentarily moist, but consistently hydrated at the cellular level.
Rapid Cooling Through Vasodilation and Fluid Exchange
Cucumber and aloe vera help widen tiny blood vessels in the skin, allowing heat to escape and nutrients to flow in more easily. This cools down sun-exposed or stressed skin and speeds up healing. Patchouli and cedarwood then help restore balance while keeping the skin’s natural moisture levels intact.
Microbiome Support for Improved Moisture Retention
A resilient skin microbiome helps regulate transepidermal water loss (TEWL). Yogurt delivers live probiotics, which encourage a healthier skin barrier and suppress inflammatory microbes that disrupt hydration. Lemon helps balance the skin’s pH and reinforces microbiome diversity. This ensures that hydration is not just applied - but held within.
Barrier Replenishment and Lipid Recovery for Lasting Softness
Pure oils rich in linoleic acid, support ceramide production. When combined with milk fats and honey’s enzymes, it helps rebuild barrier lipids that seal in hydration. This lipid restoration also prevents micro-tears and dryness-triggered inflammation, leaving skin soft, smooth, and shielded against future moisture loss.
Mineral-Rich Detoxification Without Dehydration
Bentonite clay helps detoxify skin without stripping it. Unlike drying clays, it absorbs only excess oil and leaves behind replenishing minerals. These minerals not only help tighten pores but also support aquaporin channels—tiny water pathways that transport moisture between skin cells—enhancing internal hydration flow and structural firmness.
Skin pH and Enzymatic Balance for Optimal Hydration Efficiency
The naturally acidic components of yogurt with honey and milk proteins help re-establish the ideal pH for enzyme function and barrier repair. This pH precision ensures that moisture-binding processes work optimally and that the skin can hydrate itself effectively—day after day.

Creates a Micro-Climate for Skin Recovery
As the lepa sets, it forms a soft barrier that traps warmth and moisture, gently boosting blood flow and lymphatic drainage. This warm, moist micro-climate mimics the skin’s natural healing state, speeding up detox and preparing skin to absorb nutrients better.
Barrier Lipid Softening and Follicular Access
Occlusion softens the skin’s barrier lipids, making it more permeable without damaging it. This allows deeper delivery of essential nutrients like phytoactives, fatty acids, and lacto-compounds to skin cells.
Capillary Wake-Up: Enhanced Nutrient Exchange
The warmth boosts microcirculation, waking up capillaries for better oxygen and nutrient delivery. This energises skin cells, supports collagen production, and flushes out toxins—revitalising skin from within.
Dermal Feeding: Absorption of Bioactive Molecules
With the skin more receptive, it absorbs vitamins, enzymes, and herbal actives more efficiently. These nutrients target cell renewal, inflammation, pigmentation, and barrier repair for visibly healthier skin.
pH Reset and Microbiome Rebalance
As the lepa dries, it helps restore the skin’s natural pH and seals in actives. Ferments and enzymes support good bacteria, reduce puffiness, and calm hidden inflammation that dulls the skin.
Post-Pack Rebound: The Glow Window
After removal, skin looks smoother, circulation stays high, and it’s primed for hydration. With cell activity boosted and the barrier reset, skin reflects light better—revealing a radiant glow.

Hydration vs. Moisture: What's the Difference?
Hydration is the water content within the skin cells, primarily in the outermost layer, which helps maintain suppleness and elasticity. Moisture, on the other hand, are the oils (lipids) that form a protective barrier on the skin’s surface to prevent transepidermal water loss (TEWL). In essence, hydration fills the skin from within, while moisture locks it in from the outside.
How Water Reaches the Skin: The Journey Within
Via the dermal blood supply! From there, it diffuses upward through the epidermal layers. This process is governed by osmotic gradients, and hydration is maintained by substances called Natural Moisturizing Factors (NMFs) which draw and bind water within cells.
The Skin Barrier's Role in Moisture Retention
The outermost layer of the skin, composed of dead skin cells embedded in a matrix of intercellular lipids, forms the skin barrier. This barrier acts like "mortar between bricks," preventing water from evaporating too quickly and blocking external irritants. Damage to this lipid layer—through harsh cleansers, over-exfoliation, or environmental stress—results in dehydration and sensitivity.
Aquaporins: The Skin’s Natural Water Channels
Aquaporins are membrane-bound water channels present in skin cells. They facilitate the movement of water and glycerol across cells, playing a key role in maintaining hydration. Impaired aquaporin function leads to rough, dull, and tight skin, even if external moisturizers are used.
The Role of Humectants, Emollients, and Occlusives
Effective skin hydration involves a three-pronged moisturizing strategy. Humectants draw water into the skin. Emollients soften skin by filling in cracks between cells. Occlusives form a protective film to prevent water loss. A balance of all three is essential for long-term skin plumpness and resilience.
