Deep Purge of Toxins and Impurities

Lepa gently draws airborne pollutants, oxidised sebum, and toxins out with clays, activated charcoal and natural enzymatic exfoliation. Pumpkin enzymes contain AHAs that dissolve dead skin buildup and oxidised lipids. Together, they help release embedded pollutants without disrupting the skin's microbiome or lipid balance, making this a deep-yet-gentle detoxifying system.

icon

Microbial Balancing and Inflammation Soothing

Pollution and toxins often disturb the skin’s microbiota, leading to inflammation, breakouts, and micro-sensitivities. Yogurt and raw milk, rich in probiotics, lactic acid, and calcium, restore balance while neem offer potent antibacterial and anti-fungal action. This holistic support keeps skin calm, resilient, and protected from flare-ups, even in environments high in toxic exposure.

icon

Enzyme-Driven Cellular Renewal

Pumpkin is rich in natural fruit enzymes (protease, peptidase) and antioxidants like beta-carotene, which accelerate skin renewal by digesting dead cells and promoting oxygenation. This enzymatic action is further supported by honey and besan, which encourage gentle resurfacing while maintaining hydration. Over time, this translates to a clearer, smoother, and more refined surface that reflects light better.

icon

Lipid Barrier Repair and Fat-Soluble Toxin Clearing

Fat-soluble toxins, like petrochemicals and endocrine disruptors in pollution, embed themselves in the skin’s lipid layers. Detoxification must work both at the surface and within the intercellular matrix. The combination of sesame oil, raw milk fats, and yogurt phospholipids helps emulsify and release these toxins gently. At the same time, they replenish the skin’s own lipid barrier, ensuring post-detox hydration and protection aren't compromised.

icon

Mineral Rebalancing and Ionic Clarification

Bentonite clay and charcoal attract heavy metals and excess sodium, allowing magnesium, calcium, and potassium to rebalance the skin's tone and function. Lemongrass subtly stimulate microcirculation and lymphatic drainage, removing metabolic waste and fluid retention. The result is tighter pores, fresher texture, and an energetic, clear look.

icon

Revitalised Skin Tone and Post-Detox Radiance

Pumpkin’s antioxidant profile (vitamin A, zinc, beta-carotene) works at a cellular level to defend against oxidative fatigue, while honey’s humectant nature pulls hydration deeper into the dermis. Other ingredients balance oil flow and encourage skin’s natural regenerative rhythm, ensuring that detox doesn’t leave skin depleted, but instead restores glow, clarity, and vibrance—like pressing reset on tired, toxin-stressed skin.

Creates a Micro-Climate for Skin Recovery

As the lepa sets on skin, it forms a soft occlusive barrier that traps natural heat and moisture. This mild thermal effect gently dilates superficial blood vessels, enhancing microcirculation and initiating a cascade of dermal activity. The micro-climate beneath the pack mimics the skin’s ideal healing environment - warm, moist, and oxygen-rich - allowing metabolic processes to speed up. This not only supports detoxification through increased lymphatic flow but also primes the skin to better receive and absorb topical nutrients.

icon

Barrier Lipid Softening and Follicular Access

Under occlusion, the skin’s intercellular lipids soften slightly, loosening the tightly packed stratum corneum without disrupting its integrity. This temporary softening enhances permeability. Nutrients that are normally blocked by the skin’s natural barrier now find deeper access pathways, allowing for more effective delivery of actives into the viable epidermis. This phase is critical for delivering bioavailable phytonutrients, lacto-compounds, and fatty acids to the cells that need them most.

icon

Capillary Wake-Up: Enhanced Nutrient Exchange

As circulation improves under the warmth of the lepa, the capillaries become more active, boosting oxygenation and waste removal at a cellular level. This enhances the skin’s metabolic exchange, ensuring a two-way flow—nutrients are pulled in, toxins are flushed out. The dermal vasculature essentially "wakes up," fueling cell turnover and encouraging fibroblast activity, which supports collagen synthesis and overall dermal renewal. The result is skin that is not just nourished, but functionally revitalised.

icon

Dermal Feeding: Absorption of Bioactive Molecules

With the skin barrier relaxed and microcirculation heightened, nutrient absorption peaks. This is when skin drinks in vitamins, enzymes, amino acids, and prebiotic actives from the face pack. These molecules interact with skin cells in real time—lactic acid encourages cell renewal, natural fats reinforce lipid layers, and herbal bioactives modulate inflammation and pigmentation. Each compound finds its target pathway, working either on the surface, within cells, or at the skin’s microbiome level to support radiance and resilience

icon

pH Reset and Microbiome Rebalance

As the pack begins to dry, it gradually re-establishes the skin’s acidic mantle. The slight tightening helps seal in nutrients while reducing puffiness and superficial redness. Simultaneously, yogurt and enzymatic compounds present in the lepa help regulate skin’s microbial diversity - supporting beneficial strains while inhibiting dysbiosis. This rebalancing of the skin ecosystem enhances immune defense and reduces chronic low-grade inflammation, a hidden enemy of glow.

icon

Post-Pack Rebound: The Glow Window

Once the lepa is removed, the skin enters a post-treatment rebound phase - its texture is visibly smoother, circulation remains elevated, and the skin's receptivity to hydration and emollients is heightened. Barrier function is reset, cell signaling is active, and the skin exhibits improved reflectivity due to enhanced surface uniformity.

The Science Behind Dermal Detox

Pollutants Penetrate and Trigger Oxidative Cascade

Urban pollution isn't just surface-level dirt—it includes fine particulate matter, heavy metals, volatile organic compounds, and ozone, which are small enough to penetrate the derma. Once inside, these pollutants generate free radicals, initiating oxidative stress in the skin. This oxidative cascade damages lipids, proteins, and DNA, leading to dullness, inflammation, and premature aging. Effective skin detox must include antioxidants, enzymatic repair, and support for the skin’s natural defense pathways.

icon

Barrier Breakdown Exposes Skin to Environmental Toxins

The skin’s outermost layer, the lipid barrier, acts like a breathable shield. Pollution, UV exposure, and harsh products compromise this barrier, making it porous and less resilient. Once breached, toxins and microbes enter more freely, triggering chronic micro-inflammation that results in redness, sensitivity, or even pigmentation. Detoxifying care here isn’t about scrubbing or stripping, but about rebuilding—through nourishing lipids, pH restoration, and microbiome-balancing ingredients.

icon

Inflammation and Toxin Accumulation Slow Cellular Renewal

When skin is in a chronic inflammatory state due to toxin overload, the natural cell turnover cycle (normally ~28 days) slows down. This results in the accumulation of dead cells, congestion, and a dull, uneven tone. Ingredients that gently stimulate exfoliation, enhance microcirculation, and support the skin's lymphatic and enzymatic pathways can reactivate this cycle. This is a critical part of “skin detox”—not a purge, but a renewal.

icon

Sebum Acts as a Toxin Trap - But Needs Clearing

Sebum is essential for skin health, but when overproduced (as in response to stress or pollution), it traps particles like carbon and dust along with dead skin and sweat. This clogs pores and oxidizes, forming blackheads and contributing to acne. A detox ritual should focus on clearing the sebum backlog while preserving its protective functions—using emulsifiers, absorbents (like clay or grains), and skin-adapted oils that dissolve hardened build-up without disrupting skin's rhythm.

icon

Lymphatic Stagnation and Cellular Fatigue Dim Skin Vitality

Your skin isn’t just an organ of protection—it’s also a detox organ. The lymphatic system clears metabolic waste and inflammatory debris from the dermis. But under stress, poor sleep, or urban exposure, this flow slows down. This results in puffiness, greyish undertones, and poor texture. Skin detoxification must support lymphatic movement, microvascular oxygenation, and mitochondrial energy—helping skin “breathe” better and regenerate from within.

icon

Detox Is Restoration, Not Stripping

Many equate detox with deep cleansing, but effective skin detox is about rebalancing and reviving. Instead of harsh exfoliation or aggressive actives, it requires gentle yet active botanicals, fermented actives, minerals, and soothing oils that nourish, buffer, and help the skin intelligently clear its own waste. True detox leaves the skin more resilient, hydrated, and radiant, not dry or sensitised.
